The Dog
Feeding Ruby
Breakfast anytime, usually around 8:30am-ish...sometimes, she goes as late as 11am!!
Dinner usually anytime 5:00pm onwards
Food plates are in cupboard above kettle. Metal water bowls in laundry & kitchen area.
In Fridge/Freezer:
Ziplock bags with a selection of daily meals (half in the morning and half in the evening) - set out the night before to defrost. ..most are a mix of kangaroo/chicken + beef but there are also some plain kangaroo that you can always add other bits to.
‘NOSH’ slow cooked meals packs to defrost - probably 3 meals in each pack or mix with other things.
‘BERG’ Shredded Chicken (yellow bag) - just break off a handful at a time to defrost.
In pull out larder under microwave:
Tinned dog food (My Dog/ZiwiPeak/other) - mix in a bit of the Royal Canin biscuits for breakfast or lunch.
Treats: for bribery, ‘Trading’, when you are out, or just because she's cute 🐶
Chicken Tenders (her favourites!!)
Chicken Jerky Bites (great for a walk or if you take her somewhere)
Bladder sticks (though they do make her thirsty)
Bully sticks (one a week but maybe only when you are home as she eats down to a very small piece and then I usually pop it in the bin so she doesn’t choke on it).
Beef Jerky strips
Leaving Ruby home alone
Please leave aircon on in main area (if super hot leave on aircon in the little lounge too).
Close door from little lounge into hallway (where baby gate is) as she sometimes barks at the lights etc she can see from front door.
Leave door from kitchen into little lounge open as she sometimes likes to snooze on the grey couch in there.
Leave water in both bowls please...she is good at drinking a lot of water when it’s hot.
No need to leave treats as such, but you could give her some of the little Chicken jerky pieces when leaving and treat her with a chicken tender on return if you like.
Leave TV on for her (we do!) - she sometimes likes to watch what's on.
Close and lock dog door (as she may just bark if left to go outside).
Put grey (with white bone pattern) puppy waterproof mat by dog door.
She’s never used it to toilet but there’s always first time!
She seems to have good bladder control and hasn’t weed in the house since she was a puppy (except when she has been excited to see someone!)
Walking / Taking Ruby Out
Collar and lead in dark blue box on shelf under stairs.
Poo Bags (take a 4, she saves up her poos for outings!) and Ruby’s water bottle also in box under stairs.
Black Country Road bag for dog treats / poo bags in box also to use if you would like.
Ruby usually sits at road crossings with "SIT" command or saying "What do we do?".
I usually give her a little treat for being a good girl.
Things Ruby LOVES to chew (that we don't want her to).
Make up - eyebrow pencils, eyeliners, mascaras (anything pen or pencil like!)
Watch out she can open zips in make up bags!!
Anything plastic or wooden: pens, hair clips, slides or grips, etc.
Anything in a zip-lock bag - it's the joy of ripping the bag apart!
Pins or needles
Toys
She has lots, and they are in the basket near Xmas tree (and probably everywhere!)
We keep her balls are in spare room in box at back as she gets a bit obsessed
If you go out and leave her home, please don’t leave a ball out for her as it will inevitably get stuck somewhere, and she’ll lose her mind and scratches at the sofa if it gets stuck under there!
Travelling with Ruby
If you want to stick Ruby in the car, don't fear, we have a dog seat!

Installing the dog seat
Place the dog bed on the seat behind the driver
Fold back car seat forward and secure base strap around to the back of the car seat. Tighten and secure strap, then put seat back upright.

Put top strap around head rest, adjust length to secure

Make sure the Attachment Strap readily available and not impeding on Ruby's sitting space (i.e. make sure it's hanging over the edge of the seat) so she can get in

Get Ruby into the seat and secure her. She is usually very keen, and will go into her seat with the command "In your seat".
